Federation of Law Societies National Assessment Proposal

Along with the Dean’s Office, the Allard Law Students’ Society will be hosting Alan Treleaven from the Law Society of British Columbia to speak with students and answer questions about the Federation of Law Societies of Canada’s proposed National Assessment on Wednesday, January 13 at 12:30 pm in Room 106. Immediately after this consultation, the Allard Law Students’ Society will be holding a student referendum. Lunch will be provided.

The Federation of Law Societies of Canada is proposing that each provincial law society adopt national standards for knowledge and skills that candidates must possess and tasks that candidate must perform prior to entry to the profession. The Federation of Law Societies of Canada is proposing moving from a provincial model of assessment to a federal model of assessment based on national standards.
